Retail and Office Flooring in Surrey

Retail and Office Flooring in Surrey

Retail and office flooring is where the aesthetic demand is highest and the technical margin for error is smallest. A poured resin floor in a boutique retail unit or a contemporary open-plan office must look perfect on day one and continue looking perfect under daily foot traffic, office chair castors, and regular cleaning. We install self-smoothing polyurethane, poured bi-colour resin, and microcement systems for commercial clients across Surrey, in Camberley retail parks, Redhill and Reigate town centre units, the Guildford High Street, and the growing cluster of creative agency and tech offices around Weybridge and the Brooklands area.

The practical requirement that drives specification in retail and office environments is cleanability combined with visual consistency over time. A seamless poured resin floor in a busy retail aisle is swept and mopped daily, and it must continue to look uniform, with no fading, no yellowing, no visible wear patterns around high-traffic zones, for the duration of the lease. We specify aliphatic UV-stable polyurethane topcoats on every retail and office installation. On a recent fit-out for a creative agency near Brooklands in Weybridge, we poured a bi-colour concrete-effect floor across 600 square metres of open-plan office space. The brief was a floor that looked like polished concrete but performed like industrial resin: seamless, cleanable with a mop, and scratch-resistant under the castor wheels of every desk chair on the floor.

Retail and Office Flooring in Surrey Installation Process

1

Substrate Levelling and Assessment

A perfectly flat substrate is essential for a decorative poured floor. Any unevenness in the base is amplified by the self-levelling system and visible in the finished reflective surface. We grind the floor, check flatness with a 3-metre straight edge, and apply a cementitious levelling compound or epoxy scratch coat to correct any deviation greater than 2 to 3mm before the decorative system is applied.

2

Primer and Scratch Coat

A two-pack epoxy primer seals the substrate and prevents air migration through the pour. A scratch coat is applied and sanded flat: this stage determines the quality of the finished floor. Any pinhole or surface defect in the scratch coat will rise through the body coat as a bubble or crater. We do not rush this stage.

3

Decorative Resin Pour

The chosen decorative resin, solid colour, bi-colour concrete effect, or metallic, is mixed on-site and poured in controlled passes. A pin rake distributes the resin to consistent depth and a spiked roller releases surface tension. For bi-colour effects, the two tones are poured simultaneously and worked with a trowel to develop the required patterning.

4

UV-Stable Topcoat Application

An aliphatic polyurethane topcoat is applied in matte, silk, or satin finish once the body coat achieves initial cure. This coat provides UV stability, critical under fluorescent and LED office lighting that accelerates ambering in standard epoxy, and a scratch-resistant surface that withstands daily office chair castor movement.

5

Out-of-Hours Scheduling and Handover

We plan retail and office installations outside trading and working hours: overnight or at weekends to minimise disruption to the client's business. MMA systems are specified where the installation window is limited to a single overnight session, allowing the space to open the following morning with a fully cured floor.

Systems and Options

Commercial aesthetic environments require systems that balance visual performance with practical durability:

  • Self-Smoothing Aliphatic Polyurethane at 2 to 3mm: The standard for modern offices. Flexible, acoustic-dampening, UV-stable, and available in any solid RAL or NCS colour for brand matching. Resists castor wheel abrasion and daily cleaning with pH-neutral products. Compatible with underfloor heating.
  • Bi-Colour Concrete-Effect Poured Resin: Two complementary resin tones poured and trowelled simultaneously on-site to develop a unique tonal variation referencing polished concrete. Popular in boutique retail, creative agencies, and brand experience spaces across Surrey. Every installation is unique and the pattern cannot be exactly replicated.
  • Decorative Flake or Quartz Broadcast at 2 to 3mm: A high-build base coat with vinyl flake or coloured quartz broadcast, producing a terrazzo-like appearance. Extremely durable for busy retail aisles. Provides inherent slip resistance without a separate anti-slip treatment. Popular in hair salons, wellness studios, and mid-market retail environments.

Who Is Retail and Office Flooring in Surrey Suitable For?

We work with retailers, property developers, interior designers, and office fit-out contractors across Surrey's commercial property market. Camberley retail parks, Guildford's High Street and Eagle Centre, and the Redhill and Reigate town centres are all areas where we have installed retail floors, typically during overnight or weekend fit-out programmes scheduled around trading hours. The brief is consistently the same: a floor that looks considered, performs under commercial foot traffic, and is easy to maintain over a 5 to 10 year retail lease.

Office clients are concentrated around Weybridge, the Brooklands heritage area, and the growing tech and creative cluster between Guildford and Esher. These businesses want a floor that reflects the quality of their working environment. The acoustic properties of polyurethane resin are a genuine practical benefit in open-plan offices: the slight flexibility of the cured PU absorbs footstep impact and reduces the echo that makes open-plan offices uncomfortable at scale.
