Substrate Profiling

All existing contamination, old coatings, and surface laitance are completely removed before the system goes down.
Resin Base Coat Application
A thick layer of epoxy or polyurethane resin is applied as the bonding layer. The exact resin type depends on the environment: polyurethane is specified for areas subject to thermal shock or chemical exposure, epoxy for dry industrial and commercial environments. The base coat is applied while fresh aggregate broadcast takes place immediately behind.
Aggregate Broadcast to Refusal
While the base coat is still wet, we broadcast the specified grade of quartz or aluminium oxide aggregate across the entire surface to full rejection, meaning 100% coverage with no gaps. The aggregate grade determines the final R-rating. Finer aggregates produce R10; coarser and denser broadcast produces R12 to R13.
Topcoat Sealing
Once cured, excess loose aggregate is swept and vacuumed away. One or two clear or pigmented topcoats lock the aggregate into the resin matrix while preserving the textured profile. The topcoat thickness is controlled carefully: too thick and it buries the aggregate, reducing the slip resistance below specification.

- Quartz Broadcast Systems (R10 to R13): The industry standard for industrial and commercial anti-slip flooring. Coloured or natural quartz sand is broadcast into wet resin. Quartz is harder than most aggregates and maintains its profile under heavy traffic.
- Aluminium Oxide Broadcast (R11 to R13): A finer, harder aggregate than quartz, producing an extremely durable anti-slip profile. Preferred in areas where the texture must resist heavy vehicular traffic while maintaining the rating. Used extensively on loading bay ramps and external pedestrian surfaces.
- Encapsulated Bead Topcoat (R9 to R10): Microscopic glass or polymer beads mixed directly into the topcoat resin. Provides a milder slip resistance suitable for commercial washrooms, retail areas, and offices with occasional moisture. The finer texture is easier to mop and maintain than a full quartz broadcast.
